Under the Manitoba Nominee Program (CMAP),<\/span>\u00a0the exploratory visit is requested<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0<\/span>applicants who do not have\u00a0an established connection such as\u00a0family or\u00a0friends\u00a0in Manitoba. It allows prospective immigrants to establish a real and essential first contact with their future\u00a0home\u00a0province.\u00a0Participants\u00a0will have the opportunity to meet with various representatives from different sectors such as employment, housing, banking, etc. and as a result, start to forge ties with the Franco-Manitoban community.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Julie Cordova,\u00a0a\u00a0participant in\u00a0an\u00a0exploratory visit in 2018 still\u00a0talks\u00a0about\u00a0her experience\u00a0with great enthusiasm:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>“Thanks\u00a0<\/span>to these visits, we met Canadians with whom we are still in contact today and that was really the positive side of this exploratory visit. With the connections we started to build during this visit, we were also able to prepare, and ask them questions before arriving in Winnipeg.”<\/span><\/i>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The exploratory visit is entirely the responsibility of the candidates, including accommodation, food and any travel\u00a0costs associated. It can be carried out within a period of 7 to 10\u00a0<\/span>days.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Only the principal applicant must carry out the exploratory visit, but the whole family is also\u00a0welcome\u00a0to join.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0At the end of the exploratory visit, an interview is scheduled with a representative of the Manitoba immigration office to validate the application.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
