Visit of the Honourable Lena Metlege Diab, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

On July 9, 2025, CDEM teams and the AMBM had the honour of welcoming the Honourable Lena Metlege Diab, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), to its offices.

Enriching encounters

During this visit, the Minister met with Moise Patrick Bakundukize, a Manitoba entrepreneur who has benefited from CDEM’s support in the development of his business. She also spoke with Ms. Anick Lia Péhé, Djems Olivier and Ms. Samira Rezgui, three immigrants whose integration processes in Manitoba and Canada have been supported at several stages by CDEM’s services.

This visit highlighted the essential role of the CDEM in building bridges between immigration, entrepreneurship and the vitality of Manitoba’s bilingual communities.
