Arts, music, tours and a lively atmosphere every Thursday in St. Boniface

with Jeudis Franco Thursdays! 

The Economic Development Council for Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities (CDEM) and Tourisme Riel (TR) are thrilled to announce the third edition of Jeudis Franco Thursdays. From June 5 to August 28, 2025, St. Boniface will come alive every Thursday with nearly fifteen weekly cultural, festive and community-oriented activities. 

 

Concerts, markets, guided tours, outdoor cinema, visual arts and so much more — Jeudis Franco Thursdays promise a one-of-a-kind atmosphere in Winnipeg’s vibrant French-speaking neighbourhood.

Cultural Experiences in St. Boniface

Here are some of this summer’s must-do experiences: 

  • Kilter Brewing Co. will be hosting the Kick-off Party on June 5 at 7 p.m. and will offer festive programming all summer long. 
  • The St. Boniface Summer Market will take place every Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Joseph-Royal Park and will feature over 40 local artisans including Le Petit Marché, a space for young entrepreneurs. 
  • Patio 340 will bring good vibes every Thursday starting at 5 p.m., with yoga sessions and a variety of live music and DJ sets. 
  • Jeudis-Pétanque at Provencher Park, hosted by the Union nationale française, will offer a relaxed and friendly way to try out France’s form of lawn bowling. 
  • La P’tite Visite, daily guided walking tours of the neighbourhood, will depart from 219 Provencher Boulevard and will be offered by Tourisme Riel. 
  • Movies Under the Stars, hosted at St. Boniface Cathedral, will bring you open-air movie nights featuring films in French with English subtitles.
  • Maison Gabrielle-Roy will offer guided tours every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. 
  • Historic bike tours of St. Boniface will offer a fun and active way to explore the area. 
  • Café-conversation sessions will provide a relaxed setting to practice speaking in French. 
  • La Maison des artistes visuels francophones will present Thursday evening art exhibition openings and picnics in the Sculpture Garden throughout the summer. 

 

What’s New for 2025

  • French-language boat tours with Winnipeg Waterways will take place every Thursday at 4:30 and 5:10 p.m., departing from The Forks. 
  • Art walks organized by the Winnipeg Arts Council will offer a creative lens on St. Boniface through urban art. 
  • Community basketball sessions, for all ages, will be offered by Sports en français in July and August. 
  • Theme nights at LaVérendrye Bowling Lanes will take place every Thursday in July and August. 

 

Jeudis Franco Thursdays are the perfect way to experience summer differently, celebrate the cultural richness of St. Boniface and take part in a wide variety of free and open-to-all activities.
