Fosse aux lions 2024: Finalists announcement!

CDEM is thrilled to announce that the Fosse aux lions (Lion’s Den) finale will take place on Wednesday, April 24 at 7 pm. This entrepreneurial competition will happen at the Théâtre Cercle Molière and will be broadcast live on Facebook.

The 4 finalists of this 12th edition are:

ARC AND FIRE MANUFACTURING

Joel Bisson is the owner of Arc and Fire Manufacturing, a company specializing in the fabrication and supply of metal monuments for surveying offices in the province of Manitoba and Western Ontario. The main objective is to provide clients with high-quality monuments that serve as essential reference points in their surveying work. Arc and Fire Manufacturing stands out for its ability to offer a diverse range of metal monuments in different sizes, meeting the specific needs of each customer. Arc and Fire Manufacturing has expanded its operations to serve the pork industry by offering manufacturing and welding services, demonstrating its ability to innovate and adapt to meet the varied needs of its customers.  

 

AWA BISSAP CORP 

Awa Soumbounou is the founder of Awa Bissap Corp., a small company specializing in the production of hibiscus, ginger, tamarind and baobab juices made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Located in Winnipeg, the company’s mission is to make a positive impact on the community by introducing them to the unique juices of West Africa, especially Senegalese juice.  Awa Bissap Corp. currently offers 5 products: Awa Bissap Original (made from hibiscus flowers), Awa Bissap light, Awa Ginger (made from ginger root), Awa Tamarin (made from tamarind fruits), Awa Baoaba (made from baobab fruits).

FA ALLURE

Founded by Fatimata Thiam, Fa Allure is a business that promotes Manitoban and African textiles based on the know-how of artisans. Fa Allure combines tradition and modernity to offer unique creations, a different style with a confirmed elegant look. The main products offered come from local artisans, namely loincloths, yarns, textiles, shoes, coats, and mittens, to promote local consumption and especially to promote the know-how of artisans by exporting their talents and know-how on a global scale. FA Allure offers clothing and accessories for men and women.

LE NÉNUPHAR 

Founded by Jacinthe Blais, Le Nénuphar is a Franco-Manitoban online magazine created in May 2017. It is a free monthly magazine published on the 5th of each month offering columns on various subjects: art, culture, society, education, family, finances, Francophone immigration, health and well-being, science, life testimonies, and travel stories in French. It has a total of about 1,700 pages to date. As a French-language magazine in a minority setting, its mission is to promote the French language and Francophone culture, to support the local economy and initiatives, to serve as a reference for Franco-Manitobans, to create a space for community members to express themselves and to make itself known to the entire international Francophonie.
